The American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Retraining Course is designed for individuals whose previous certification was impacted due to training compliance concerns identified by the American Red Cross. This course provides participants with the opportunity to complete all required American Red Cross Lifeguarding curriculum and skills assessments necessary to earn a valid Lifeguarding certification. Participants will review and demonstrate proficiency in preventative lifeguarding, surveillance and recognition, emergency response procedures, rescue skills, first aid, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, and team response scenarios. All training will be delivered by an authorized American Red Cross instructor and will meet current Red Cross training requirements. Successful completion of all course requirements, including attendance, skill evaluations, and written assessments, will result in the issuance of a valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification. Please note: This retraining opportunity is being provided at no cost to impacted participants through a partnership between Hopkins Community Education and the American Red Cross. Attendance at all required course sessions is mandatory to receive certification.
