This is a class specifically designed for those that have a lot of experience working with clay. You will explore your own body of wet work incorporating your independent style. This is a structured class with, demonstrations available at your request. Bring a journal to write and draw creatively for ideas and you are welcome to bring in ear buds for musical inspiration. We will have a critique at the end of the 2 weeks. Please wear tennis shoes and wear your hair back. Snack is optional.

Chess is a classic game that develops spatial thinking and strategies and builds focused concentration. Taught by a professional chess coach, the class is geared to all levels of chess players. Beginners learn basic game rules and opening tactic moves. Intermediate and advanced players learn sophisticated combinations and strategies and advanced opening moves. Now is your chance to bring your game to the next level. The best part of all CHESS IS FUN! Who knows maybe your son or daughter is the next Bobby Fischer!

DASH Sports Summer Basketball Camp offers experience covering a broad range of skills training and skill-based games. Players will be taught how to properly pass, shoot, and play defense in a fun and positive environment. Athletes should wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle and a snack.

This 2-Day Camp will teach you basic bike set up, trailside repair, shifting adjustments, brake adjustments, learn how to re-cable a bike for shifting and brakes, tube replacement, tips & tricks, and preparing a bike for selling (if interested). Students are free to bring a different bike to each class. Parts are an extra fee if it is something more major or we will help you source new parts if needed.

Along the way, campers will discover just how many amazing careers exist in the world of STEAM. Come ready to get messy, think big, and let your imagination take off!

Camp Invention’s new program, SPARK, offers 4 full days of hands-on STEM learning. In Fur-ensics, campers sharpen their detective skills and discover how forensic science is used to solve crimes as they conduct their own critter crimes investigation. They explore the inner robotics of their capybara, create clever sleuthing gadgets and build critical thinking skills as they collect evidence to forensically analyze and narrow down their suspects. In Make Waves, campers explore exciting entrepreneurship concepts, make ocean discoveries and ride the waves of innovation as they learn how to commercialize their inventions, from generating ideas to pitching invention prototypes to investors. They conduct hands-on buoyancy experiments, “make waves” in the market with customer research and build an innovative billboard boat to hook their target audience. Space Morphers launches campers on a mission to terraform a new planet for human habitation as they create inventions to transform its atmosphere, terrain and ecosystem. After building their own DIY rocket, they study Earth’s systems, collect samples in a high-energy relay challenge, review data and record their observations in their Space Lab. In The Infringers, campers spark the superpowers of the I Can Invent® Mindset, design and create an invention that solves a challenge in their community and learn how to protect their intellectual property with various security tools. They brainstorm, design and miniaturize a top-secret invention, design a wearable device that incorporates cryptography and file a provisional patent to safeguard designs from the Infringers.

Camp Royal hits the road -- Spend the final days of summer vacation exploring all the fun activities the Twin Cities has to offer! Choose your own adventure, or adventures! Join us for 1 day or many, the choice is yours. Field Trip Week Schedule: Monday, August 17: New Hope Cinema Grill Movie ticket, pizza & soda included! Tuesday, August 18: St. Louis Park Aquatic Center Wednesday: August 19: MN Twins Game MN Twins vs. Atlanta Braves game, ballpark tour, hot dog & soda included! Thursday, August 20: Urban Air Students should bring a nut-free bag lunch each day, along with a water bottle and snacks. Students will be dropped off and picked up at the Eisenhower Community Center. You do not need to be a Hopkins student or resident to participate.
