HAWA Women's Open Swimming at EisenhowerFitnessHAWA Women’s Health Club - Open SwimEnjoy dedicated women-only swim time in a comfortable and community-centered environment with HAWA Women's Health Club at Eisenhower! This series of open swim sessions is perfect for women who want to move freely, relax in the water, practice swimming at their own pace, or simply enjoy a peaceful space for wellness and connection. Please bring a swimsuit, towel, water bottle, and goggles if preferred. Open to all skill levels. The pool space will be locked for access by males during these events; a women's locker room is available for shower and restroom facilities that connect directly to the pool space. NOTES: This opportunity is uniquely designed as a female-only swim environment. The purpose is to protect religious "modesty" (Awrah) practices. A minimum of 23 participants is required to run each event, and a 30 maximum occupancy will cap participation for each swim date. Participants must acknowledge an understanding of safe swim practices and agree to the Hopkins liability waiver as a part of registration. Lifeguards are required to be present at each event and will monitor pool safety during all swim activities. No swim instructors will be present. There is a strict no-photography expectation for the HAWA Women's Open Swim sessions. If a photo is taken without awareness of this policy, the photographer will be asked to delete any images of participants. Interested in Lifeguard Opportunities? Swim Lessons for Adult Women (18+): Beginner 1 & 2FitnessSwim Lessons for Adult Women (18+), provided in partnership with Minnesota Masters Swimming All instructors, volunteers and lifeguards will be women, and there will be privacy on the pool deck so that women can participate. Women’s Beginner 1 and Beginner 2 will be taught at the same time in the shallow end of the pool. Please read the descriptions below and then indicate your level by answering the Question waiting for you in the registration form. Beginner 1 - Swim ABCs for Fearful or Nervous SwimmersThis program is designed for adults who never learned how to swim or have anxiety around water. Participants will learn to be more comfortable and safer in the water. Participants will learn skills including putting face in the water while blowing bubbles, sculling, kicking, and back float / front float. Participants will be put into small groups of 1 to 2 swimmers and 1 instructor. Each participant will be able to progress at their own pace. Beginner 2 - Swim STROKE BasicsThis program is designed for adults who are comfortable in the water and have already mastered all the skills of Swim ABCs (described above). Participants should be able to float on their back and front and recover to standing without assistance. Participants will be put into small groups and will work with an instructor to refine skills including streamline push off, rhythmic breathing, front crawl (“freestyle”) and backstroke.Adult Fall 2026 -

Beginner 3 - Swim STROKE Development This program is designed for adults who are comfortable in the water and have already mastered all the skills of Adult Swim Beginner 2. Participants should be able to swim basic front crawl (“freestyle”) and backstroke without assistance. Participants will be put into small groups and will work with an instructor to refine skills such as breath control, body position, power, and efficiency. Intermediate 1 - Lap Swim This program is designed for adults who have already mastered all the skills of Adult Swim Beginner 3 and can swim at least 50 yards freestyle without stopping. Participants should also be able to swim 25 yards on their back without assistance. Participants will be assigned half a lane to share with another lap swimmer and allowed to swim at their own pace and will receive guidance and drills from the instructor to refine skills and endurance.Adult Fall 2026 -
